The Sanibel Naturals Story

When I met my husband, Michael, he was tormented by angry irritated skin. He would use large amounts of aloe gel on his skin to reduce the inflammation, relieve the dryness and the itch. And, soon, I was enlisted to put the aloe gel on his back. Having lived most of his life in cold climates, he attributed his problem skin with low humidity from central heat. But, he wasn’t much better in the Summer, either.

People aren’t supposed to have irritated skin. There was a cause and his skin problems were the effect. So, I began to read “soap” labels. The first thing I realized is, they are not soap. And the ingredients used in these “bars” were just a chemical cocktail. So I began my education and career in skincare and soap making.

Here’s what I learned: genuine soap is mild. It is not a chemical stew of detergents, solvents and other bits of laboratory science. When Michael used soap made from vegetable oils his skin got better. Much better! He no longer needed aloe gel because there was no irritation. My education into skin care continued after I began making soap. What I’ve learned is what is now available to you, the Sanibel Naturals user.
